Am I qualified to work within the make- up industry on completion?
The New York Makeup Academy is a training establishment that teaches students to apply makeup techniques professionally on themselves and on clients for one on one client freelancing, bridal, fashion, TV, and editorial. Our Certificate program is led by influential and experienced industry professionals who have a range of knowledge and first hand experience in the makeup industry. NYMUA instructors mentor the students through class demonstrations, developmental technical feedback, and managing attendance/participation. Upon course completion, students will be certified in current professional makeup artistry techniques. Students who are interested in applying skin treatments, nail services, hair coloring and cutting will be required to obtain an esthetician or cosmetology license by the state of New York to continue these services outside of professional makeup artistry.
